Current Munster Head Coach, Canterbury Head Coach 2006-2011, Crusaders Lineout Coach 2007,  New Zealand U21 Head Coach 2012.

A former captain Rob Penney played 101 games for Canterbury between 1985 and 1994 as number 8 and was widely thought to be unlucky not to have played for the All Blacks. As Canterbury Head Coach from 2006 to 2011 he led the team to success for an unprecedented four consecutive championships in the world toughest provincial competition. Rob took up the new challenge of coaching in Europe when appointed Head Coach of Munster in 2012.
